Ensemble Tikoro is a contemporary music group using throat singing, gangsa, extended vocal, and dominated by vocal techniques from extreme metal music like death metal, black metal, thrash metal, hardcore, punk, etc. The guys of Ensemble Tikoro are metalheads from underground community in Bandung. Metalhead who playing contemporary music with classical notation or other music scores, have big interested in traditional culture also.

Robi Rusdiana, is a founder of Ensemble Tikoro, on 2012 he making studio project, an extreme metal vocals ensemble for master program in ISBI Bandung, and it finished as a thesis. After Robi Rusdiana finished his master program, Ensemble Tikoro still alive until now, still make some concert and collaboration in every year. Ensemble Tikoro have more than 50 works, almost composed by Robi Rusdiana, some for dance, theater, visual art, and experimental project. Ensemble Tikoro have a motto, “And contemporary music for all”, it’s interpretated from “And justice for all” from Metallica.
